The Sustainable Forestry Initiative is based on the premise that responsible environmental behavior and sound business decisions can co-exist to the benefit of landowners, manufacturers, shareholders, customers, the people they serve, the environment, and future generations. 
The SFI program integrates the perpetual growing and harvesting of trees with the protection
of wildlife, plants, soil, water, and air quality. 

Through SFI Chain-of-Custody procedures, companies can demonstrate their commitment to
environmentally and socially responsible forest management and label their products
with the SFI trademarks.

Products carrying the SFI label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present
and future generations.
